Here’s a few shots from my recent photoshoot with Matt Barnett of the old industrial ruins at Sope Creek in Marietta, GA. In the 1800′s, this mile-long strip of land alongside the creek included a paper mill, twine plant and flour mill. During the Civil War, these buildings were used for the production of Confederate money, and were subsequently destroyed by the Union Army.

This is also a great place to run. Tons of great trails that link to Cochran Shoals. Check out my site for trail maps: http://www.kochfamilyblog.com/2010/08/06/cochran-shoals-sope-creek/
Cool, thanks John!
I’ve been to this place once and don’t remember how to get there! You should send me directions! Awesome pictures.
Hey, thanks Jamie, glad you dig the photos! It’s actually really easy to get to – the entrance is right on Paper Mill Rd, off Johnson Ferry. It’s an awesome place to spend a morning!
